About the founder…

Alex Marshall has been a professional musician in the Detroit area for his entire adult life. He played his first professional gig with the Grosse Pointe Symphony at the age of 17. He started teaching at 19, and his first student ultimately went on to receive the maximum music scholarship to WMU. Alex studied classical and jazz music at Michigan State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Music Performance. He has gone on to make great accomplishments in his career, both as a performer and educator. Constantly striving for greater success, he continues to learn from some of the world’s most prestigious musicians. Through his years of networking in the freelance musician scene in Michigan, Alex has built a connection with hundreds of other professionals. Now with his latest endeavor, the Detroit Music Group, Alex aims to closer connect people with the music they love, where to see it, how to do it, and to bring it right to their front door.
